Let the killing begin!!!

Sounds like I'm not alone out there. I've kept all the weeds out of the
patch and treated the soil 1 month ago. Two weeks ago I had a cuke beetle
siting and treated the plants and soils around with Diazion. (Sevin isn't
strong enough, I found out last year ) We have had our usual rain
everyday here in the PNW for the past week and the buggers have returned 4
fold. Another treatment they got. Last year I had bacterial wilt due to
not treating aggressively. I lost about 25% of my foliage to this and the
fruit suffered too! I'm not a fan of chemical warfare, but am changing my
tune this year.
My first male flowers haven't opened yet, but I know that's the first place
to look if you do have flowers. And the underside of the mature leaves ,
near the center of the plant is a favorite spot for them too! Good luck to
all of us... Shellie - Oly,Wa.

P.S. What neck of the woods do you live in Glen Peters?
        And you too Tim Aker!!
