Hi all!
Is anyone out there growing theses behemouths in South Africa???
The only "large"(compared to those mentioned) seeds available
here are known as the "American Big Max Pumpkin"
I successfully grew 2 last year with a mass of 86Kg and 78kg respectively.
These seem very tiny compared to those mentioned in the various Emails !!!!
I prepare my bed B4 winter starts, stand over winter, then plant out in the middle of August.
At the moment though, it's still pretty cold down here in Port Elizabeth.
The only problem I have come across so far, is Mildew.
This year I plan to dust with flowers of sulphur to alleviate this problem.
The same problem also occured with my 450Kg yield baby marrow plant.
Still practising though.
