California update........sun for the last 3 days the plants have begun to
move a little.......Had a extremely nice 911 waterbury growing but it was
flat double vine I was wondering if double meant double the action at each
leaf juction instead of one leaf there were two this seem to be real
cool......as the plant was twice the size of any other....the problem was
that the leaves were huge at 24" across and because there were two monster
leaves at the same junction leaning in opposite directions the vine split
in the middle........so I chopped the main and now will have to go with the
two secondaries going east and one west.....bummer .....but on the other
hand have a Eaton 853 same scenario....but hit about 2ft and went
single....will it stay? these double vines are a wild ride.....if this
Eaton stays single it will seem to have been beneficial in the beginning of
the plant growth to have double every thing and then get back on
track...........basically its a wash.......but intensifies watching vine
growth
I am trying something different this year leaving two plants per hill till
they reach 5 ft then make my vine selection........only because anything
can happen when they are young......and also seem you really can't tell
much about them till this late..............All the plants left are
between 20 and 3o inches for 36 days...but if the sun stay should be
rocking soon.....brock
