Well I am glad somebody thought it was funny. You know I am not off the hook
yet. See the police chief down at the station was telling me about this
article he was reading in High Times about Pot growers down in the King City
area of CA. It traditionally is a region known for growing hops. Well some
inventive growers down their have discovered a way to graft hops to pot
plants to avoid detection by aircraft. Needless to say Southern California is
now smoking hops rather than drinking beer! So much for micro-breweries!
Anyway the Chief said, after reading this article he wants to scoop up all my
plants and send them in to the lab for tissue analysis. He said nobody in
their right mind would have a garage full of grow lights for a bunch of
pumpkin plants. I think he is convinced they are truly a valuable cash crop.
At that point I told him my favorite flavor of bagel was poppy seed so if the
tissue analysis can back positive he better test the dirt too. Really pissed
him off! Still awaiting lab results.........and warm weather!

Chris,

This is hilarious!!! I'm sorry the police questioned you, but could there
be a better resolution? Just think what they are saying down at the
station!!! "We thought he might have some illegal plants in there, but all
we found were.. . pumpkin plants." "Hey, are you sure they weren't giant
zukes???" hahahahaha. Oh, that was good! Sorry for your inconvenience,
Chris, but what other pumpkins growers can say they've been grilled by the
police????

Mike,
OK your on to me. I had to reduce the size of my peat pots from 30 gal
containers to the 4 gal size to make room for more starts. You see my office
and garage are filled with hanging grow lights, the old wiring in this house
has started to cause my fuses to blow as I am pulling to much juice. The
police started crusing my block late at night and came to my door just
yesterday inquirering as to the bright glow coming from beneath my garage
door. I think they think I am growing someting other than pumpkins. Thus
smaller peat pots, more starts, fewer lights, the fuses don't blow, my wife
doesn't yell at me and maybe the police will believe me? Pumpkin growing can
become complicated you know. Still hoping for warm weather!

Chris
