This doesn't exactly concern pumpkins but close.
I have a yellow squash that I refer to as a "siamese squash." What it looks
like is that one squash started growing and then divided into two. The stem
expands to a squash for about 1/2 inch then another squash starts. they are
connected the rest of the length down to about 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the
end where the split to form the end. Just like two separate fruits but
connected together for most of their length, with one slightly shorter and
smaller around.
I understand that squash and pumpkins are closely related. Has anyone ever
seen anything like this? What would cause it? None of my local gardening
friends have seen anything like it.
I have one sprouted Atlantic Giant seed now, another still in paper towel.
Hope it has time to mature and doesn't "fry" from our hot Central Texas
weather!! This is my first try for AG, thanks to one of the list members.
