BOONVILLE CA.UPDATE

Boonville Ca. update...Brock Farms....

Site #1 UOW Armstrong 1000 = 825shymanskiX909lloyd 5ft.main droopy leaves
seems to be u.v sensitive.........strong looking plant #2 in running

Site #2 911=876lloyd selfed waterbury was a big strong plant but kept
blowing up vine wise had to be pulled back up a transplant 500
Larue=563geertsX560larue 18 inch main...
Site #3 The original site of a 812 Larue=567.5momX563 geerts wind tore from
roots back up a daring transplant at the 6 leaf stage the 1006 and another
812......plants were looking good but the 812 took the transplant better
so yanked the 1006 "be still my beating heart" Ouch!
Site #4 Brock 685= 559 geerts X742 glasier....seems to be better adapted to
the area no droopy leaves long and stringy vines moving in on
5ft....2ftsecondaries nice cross between a ground hugger and tall leaf...
Site#5 Eaton 853=946geertsX758 mcdonald......the 887 traits are ringing
through as it is a yellow vine and a ground hugger very well behaved no
secondary vines reaching straight into the sky and then
crashing.......moderate aggressiveness but moderation is a key word in
pumpkin growing......

Site # 6 977andersen =1006 selfed this is the largest of the plants at
5.5ft secondaries are a mother as they reach for the sky just slightly off
from straight up crashed a few secondaries as there not much you can do
against this kind of angle........i call this plant the Maverick as I
attempted the Xmas style and the plant went out the back i have been
trying to turn with sticks but it wraps back around the sticks and wants to
go north back to Bill Greer.....very thick main and stiff vine hope not to
break it in attemps to turn....it

Site #7 mombert 866 this plant was so slow i was bummed but then it began
to go nice thick main 4 ft........big leaves

Site #8 this was the Home of the 701 larue= 676larueX563 geerts and the
868=563geertsX560larue both plants were looking real good slow but also
have trouble with straight secondaries crashing... the 868 looked better
and i decided to go with the 701 as the Larue500 in site#2 is the same
genetics as the 868 i hope! The 676 in the 701 was the plant that produce
there uow 1016...so you see the draw.....

Well the bottom line i am exhausted trying to keep up with all that needs
to be done ......Jenny Craig needs giant pumpkins in there exercise program
as i am losing weight running around frantic that i might crash another
secondary..Don't do 8 plants!! especially if your skinny.......brock
