Jon:
It's a matter of personal preference. Some say freezing is best, others say
keep cool and dry.
I like the method Chris Andersen uses....that is put the seeds into those
small, plastic film cans with silica gel or other dessicant. Any craft store
sells dessicant for drying flowers. You can even save the little packages that
come in shoe boxes or electronics.
The cans are easy to label, and airtight. Once labeled, pop them in the
freezer. If you want to revitalize your dessicant, bake it off in the oven at
375 or so for 30 minutes, then cool and reuse.
If you choose the room temp method, choose a container that is tinted (like a
vitamin jar) or opaque like white plastic, etc. Make sure the lid is secure
and airtight. The less light, the better. Keep in a cool, dark place, like a
basement.
Be certain the seeds you pack are thoroughly dry. Dessicant is always a good
idea.
