Personal best

This comment got me thinking about first year growers and how lucky they are
this year.
No matter what, as long as the fruit survives, they get to mark 1998 as the
year of their
"personal best".

All non-rookies, especially the "heavy hitters", can only dare to dream.

The Beaverton 8 plant "dream team" has 5 plants just starting to vine and
the other 3 late germinators growing well. My Sherry LaRue 1061 is the front
runner with hubby Jack's 916 running a close, strong second. While Oregon's
May rains have me 2-3 weeks behind my goals I am happy to be still in the
hunt.

Maybe there is a "personal best" lurking outside for me...do I "dare to
dream"?

(Of course I dare to dream, and dream, and ........ :-) )

Mike in Beaverton
