What should I do ? Yesterday I saw my first female flower near the end ofthe
main vine. Over Joyed needless to say . It is out about 8 ft and figured it
might make 10ft by the time it opened.
But then this morning in a rash coffee deprived moment, I decided it would be
better if it grew a little more to the right .W RONG !!! SNAP!! I've cracked
the vine about 2 ft from the tip . AAAAAHHHHH!!!! Quickly I stuck it back
together and covered it with dirt . Is there anything else that can be done?
Any one else done something STUPID like this before ??Help!!

P.F.,
Most of the experienced growers on this list have cracked off the vine or
the pumpkin. WHEN MOVING A PUMPKIN OR A VINE< THERE IS NO WARNING< NO
CREAKING....just SNAP and your done...move slowly over a period of days. All
is not lost. One of your side vines can now take over as the main and you can
prune accordingly to develop a new main. You will also get some other nice
vines coming out of the base of the plant. You will feel better in two weeks
when something else has taken over.
