Hi Everyone,
Well my plants are looking good. Here is the current dilemma:
The first big secondary on the main plant (closest to the main root)
is starting to tangle with the best backup plant. I wanted to keep the
backup in case I need a pollinator, but I'm not sure how the
interference will affect the main plant's secondary. I can try to
encourage the secondary slightly to the side, and I realize that the
longer I wait, the more delicate will be the required surgery to remove
the backup when the time comes. (The only other backup is the Cramer
550 which I steamed and which is still in total bonsai mode... I'm
clueless about whether it might blossom or not, or about the viability
of any blossoms it gets.)
Other than the trauma of disentangling the two, will this tangle hurt
the main plant too much? Should I yank the backup now, let the main
plant get ALL the nutrients, and trust there will be enough male
blossoms when needed?
Beth
