Hello pumpkin pals, All is well for the time here in Indiana for now that is. I have seen squash bugs in the patch lately. I continue to spray with sevin and methoxlchlor. Please let me know if I need something stronger. It sure is fun to give those bugs a direct shot. I guess it brings out the kid in me. Kind of like cowboys and indians. Anyway my question for the day is about when and how to pinch and prune. From what I have read and researched I had planned on starting to cut the ends of my secondary and teritary vines and bury them once my fruits were set. My target date for permanent fruit set or my contest keepers is quickly approaching. Do I start cutting now or wait? I have already begun to bury vines in some places along the main and seconadary vines. My larger plant has approx. 300 leaves and the smaller 200. All advice is welcome.
