Hi, Rocky,
The pumpkin shrink is here. Now, Your baby is looking like a squash? What if
it develops into an adult squash, one of the biggest and best in the state?
You will be the proud daddy of a champion squash!! And what if it doesn't do
much at all? It is still your baby. You grew it from a little seed. You
tended it. Watched it grow. Took care of it and worried about it. It will
always be your baby regardless of size, shape or color.
You could have a prize- winning squash, a pumpkin with a recessive gene
showing, an off-color pumpkin, an off-color squash. What does it matter,
really? This is your BABY, and deep down, you know it. You know you love it
no matter what it turns out to be.
I also agree with Marv. If it look like a squash, enter it into the giant
squash category. Either way, you are learning something about growing giants
everyday, and that is the real prize.
