No, you're not the only A.G. grower north of Nanaimo. I can't tell from the
post where you live so let me know.
I live in Port Alberni and have been growing pumpkins for a long time.My
personal best is 595 lbs.(uow).
Presently I have three plant on the go. They are a S.Larue 1016, a D.Geerts
741.5 and a Richart 871. All three plants are showing both male and female
flowers so I hope to be hand pollinating within the next week or two.
The only problem that has arisen is that the Geerts main vine has flattened
and is continuing as a double vine. I'll probably be setting fruit on a
secondary vine on that plant. Except for that it's been a perfect year. I'm
probably three weeks ahead of last year at this time.
