Removing part of the vegetation is standard practice for handling
transplants. Another cause might be that the solar spectrum right now is
higher in Infra Red than normal. This results in things heating up instead
of photoreacting. Last year was the same and I had burnt walnut leaves on
some of the trees. Roger
