HI AND THANK'S TO ALL LIST MEMBERS.
I must say a big thankyou to those of you who have e mailed me both privately
and on the list with regard to me having lost my Pumpkin Patch. It just goes
to show that not only are we List Members but also friends who care about
oneanothers problems in the Patch.
To answer some of your comments I received I will put them here on the list
for all List Members to see and hopefully understand the situation that I am
in. Firstly, I have tried to secure space on an allotment or communal
Gardening site but unfortunately there is a 3 year waiting list for plots
near to me. Other sites have been bought by building developers who do not
re-let Allotments once they become vacant as they will be developing the
sites in the near future.
Secondly, The guy that is re-claiming my Pumpkin Patch in order to grass it
down and who is our landlord IS a farmer therefor renting local land is
impossible.
Thirdly, I have had all heart and enthusiasm wrenched out of me due to the
loss of my Pumpkin Patch and I feel very bitter that I have had to bow down
and accept the loss of the patch.
Finally, It is too late to go back on several decisions that I made and all
of my Pumpkin Growing equipment is being bought by my very good friend and
successful Giant Pumpkin Grower Alun Jones of Liverpool. Alun is on his way
down from Liverpool to pick up all my equipment as I type this e mail and I
will be relieved but saddened when all the equipment has gone from my house.
As for my very large Giant Pumpkin Seed collection, I will put a list of the
Seeds that I have available on this list as soon as possible. I may return
some of the very sought after Seeds to the growers who sent them to me in the
first place if they remember sending me Seeds and would like them returned.
Before anyone says that I cannot be serious about Growing Giant Pumpkins, and
I have given up too easily, then you are wrong. The loss of my Pumpkin Patch
is my main hassle but there are other personal reasons for me having to take
early retirement from growing Giant Pumpkins.
Once again a GREAT BIG THANKYOU to those of you who have been most kind and
sent your comments, encouragement, and in some instances comments of disgust
that I have had the Patch taken from me.
BEST WISHES TO ALL
