Paul,
The 567.5 Mombert is arguably the best seed ever. It has produced
more big pumpkins than any other seed. Only a few other seeds come close to
rivaling it. One being the 946.5 Geerts. Its a genetic thing. Once a
pumpkin is known to produce extremely large pumpkins on a fairly consistent
basis, it is known as a PROVEN seed. At that point it becomes highly sought
after by everyone and soon after that the seeds become hard to find because
everyone wants them. The 567.5 is considered by many to be the best of the
best. It has the track record to prove it. The only downfall is that any
remaining seeds from this pumpkin are very old. Seven years old !!! So very
few of them will germinate.
