Hi y'all...glad to see Mallorn and the list back on :-)
Time for an update from up north :
On the 9th...had a first "invasion" of cuke beetles (man do they
eat)...fought back with Sevin...by the 14th, no cuke beetle was to be found
;-)
Here goes the vital stats :
1010 Mackenzie : first male blossom today...main vine at 109"...
longest secondary at 57"...vines are yellow,
they turn
green towards the top of the leaf stems...
727 Greer : first male blossom today (2) ...main at 84"...long sec at 41"
The leaves on this one are huge (many leaves at 24" +)
734 Marcellus : first male blossom today...main at 57"...longest sec at
39"
819 Stephenson : first male blossom today...main (actually this is a
secondary that replaced the main that I
broke a while
back) at 52"...I think this one would have
been a
serious contender for the top spot..
133 Rivard : main at 36"...this one is a reject of a fellow grower...decided
to that I couldn't see it thrown away (grown from my
seed)...I gave it an isolated location in the
garden...will let it
grow out onto the lawn...
