newbie with a big smile!!

I was out doing a little roto tilling and moving some of the wind braeks to make room for some more growth when I noticed a small boy watching my through some pine trees. I always scared to death of vandals anyway. When your in the middle of town It's always in the back of your mind. I signaled to him if he wanted to talk. He broke out into a huge smile so I shut down the tiller and chatted with him for about 15 to 20 minutes. Found out his name was Travis and he had just moved into the neighbor hood recently. He is 13 and a pretty good acting kid. Very respectful and pretty knowledgeable. From what I see in the papers a true Rare Breed these days!!
   Anyway the last thing I saw was a possible Future World Record pumpkin grower walking down the alley witha large s - - -  eating grin on his face. In one hand was a large bunch of freshly picked turnips for himself and is family and pocket full of Giant pumpkin seeds. It's nice to see young kids enjoying some of the finest things in life at a young age!!

P S  the delay cost us. We finished up the wind break in the rain. But you could wipe the grin off MY face watching him look through my scrap and seeing his eyes light up when I told him to help himself to a hand full of seeds. At least in one kid's Eye I might be the PUMPKIN KING!!!
