Re: gypsy worms/caterpillers

how can you spray early, if you never see the predator? once the prob was
found, then I did it.. but I always have light coat of sevin on the plant.. it
is just the case of beign overwhelmed by thousands of gypsy caterpillers.. I
went out to the hedgerow/patch tonite at 11pm and looked around and listened..
Amazing how sevin makes the insides of the caterpiller pop, and kills em.. I
sat and listened to them pop like rice crispies.. but the strange part is that
some jump from the hedge row and try to survive the sevin, and make it to
safety in my patch.. that is where my sevin laced plant is waiting for them..
the prob I had today was that before the sevin kicked in, they crawled to my
females, and took a big ol bite..
