Kirk,

Try planting  some Honeysuckle or other fragrant plants in the area to attract
bees if you have the room.
Add some well aged manure to your soil and till it in.  With the humidity their,
be prepared for Powdery Mildew, It's a white powdery looking fungus that will
cover the leaves. Spray with Daconil or other fungicide.
Keep the plants well watered but allow the plant and ground to dry my night
fall.
