A wait of 2 weeks is not a long time when all orders are processed by hand to
ensure quality. This is the busy time of year and we had a shorter trun
around earlier. We are working hard to fill all orders ASAP. We send seeds
every month of the year to most all countries (hey, we're promoting giant
pumpkins by doing this). We have just found out that our web site provider
has changed the format on us to exclude the order acknowledgement. We are
certian this was active last year - Can someone confirm this for me? Our
Webmaster is working on this now. Its only good business to send an
acknowledgement and we sure are up for good business. I think they are
trying to force us to an upgrade, which we will most likely do anyways. If
anyone wants to promote/market their good seeds through us this is always an
option as far as we are concerned. Call me, lets talk! Who opened the door
anyways? (for the Atlantic Giant)
As for the comment "why buy seeds"; its cheap to have a promoter for giant
pumpkins on a worldwide basis, 365 days a year, for the the cost of a few
seeds! I was just invited to China the third week of January to discuss
giant pumpkin growing there. Duncan has seen some of my photos! Those
thinking this was just a vacation, think again! Although the trip was
"expenses paid", there are additional costs just like there are costs for
promoting pumpkins on the daily basis. I've been doing this for nearly 20
years now and some of you can imagine the costs and time spent. This past
weekend was spent at the National Halloween Show in Chicago where I met
growers and promoters from around the world. Always talking "giant pumpkins"
- this time at my total expense. If I could not mix a little business with
this I just could not afford to do it! And the costs are great. We had
specific meetings regarding this years contest and prizes with international
promoters. This will be released soon. And on and on..... As far as I'm
concerned seeds should not be free - at least join as a World Pumpkin
Confederation supporting member at $5 (for everyone) to help me continue to
be the voice for Giant Pumpkins!
