List,
I think the way you phrased the question on the latest poll is not
valid....when you say "yes" i would used a genetically altered atlantic giant
because genetic engineering is safe. You are making a generalization or
blanket statement that all genetically engineered products are safe. There is
no doubt in my mind that some genetically engineered products are entirely
safe and some others may not be. People have been eating geneticly engineered
grapes for 30 years with no I'll effect that I know off. Those green, oblong
, seedless table grapes that everyone eats do not come oblong and seedless in
nature. I don't think they have hurt anyone yet. Your statement on pumpkins
could be written as follows: Will you drink wine because all types and
amounts of wine consumption is safe. There are some types of genetic
engineering that probably are safe and some that are not. You are swiping
genetic engineering with a broad brush and making people answer the question
on all types of genetic engineering. I would have phrased it....Would you be
willing to use a genetically engineered A.G.......period....... don't lump in
the statement " because genetic engineering is safe in general.
