  Another thing. Calcium Nitrate comes in two forms. I call it agricultural 
grade and greenhouse grade. The Agricultural grade is cheaper and when 
dissolved in water has a whitish, sticky scum that will float to the top of 
the water when you dissolve it. I think the scum is some kind of coating on 
the little prills or granules. Agricultural grade is meant to be broadcast on 
the soil and not dissolved. The scum will plug up the holes in your watering 
can so take the end of the watering can. Greenhouse grade is normally twice 
the price and dissolves easier with no residue to plug up drippers, etc.
