Greetings from the Pacific Northwest,
I am looking for some growers advise,
especially those of you that are nearby. This will be my first attempt at
a true giant pumpkin. I have many questions. What do people use
around here for heating the soil? Heating cables or does black plastic
work fine? Does it matter what kind the black plastic is? Once
I rototill my patch and have the soil tested, when do I heat the soil and
how long? Where can I get my soil tested? And I need to build a
cold frame over it, right? What is the best way to water around
here? I have always used sprinklers in my gardens. Is it
necessary to get tanks and use warm water? Is there a Co-op nearby
that is cheaper than the farm stores for chemicals?
Any advise you can offer me would be
appreciated. You are welcome to email me directly: n*@3dtech.net
Thanks for your help,
Nance Drill
