Re: Hard Pan


    Thanks for the information.
    My garden area was indeed in farm land until about three years ago. I 
found the hard pan in other areas of the yard when I was planting trees then, 
so I suspect the plow is the culprit rather than chemicals. The ripper plow 
sounds like a good idea and probably less destructive then the backhoe. I 
know I need to build the soil up with manure, leaves, and what not but that 
is something that will take years and hundreds of yards of material.
