Caution - my 2 cents worth ahead -
brake ( hit delete) to avoid.
I have grown two
pumpkins in excess of 800 pounds from seeds from P & P. While I think Ray
needs to add some useful content to this list, at least occassionaly,
rather than soley make self-ingratiating comments and/or sales pitches, I
equally feel that this "P & P bashing" needs to end as, at least to
me, it has become
BORING. ie, this tread has become about as interesting as
listening to complaints about Nike golf balls because the golfer can't hit
them as far as Tiger Woods hits them.
Ray/ P & P bashing can be fun, but not unlike
good beer, too much of anything is not good for the body, or the
mind.
While I am sure we are all greatful to Ray for helping
start this list, for creating big cash weigh-offs and always taking the time to
post to this list to tell us all how wonderful he is :-)
(as well inventing the Internet I am sure)
even a Martha Stewart "good thing" needs to come to an end
at some point. Being among the oldest members of this list (in both senses
of the word) I Suggest this is a great spot to stop.
BTW does anyone have a handle on the in-fighting that is
going on here in the Pacific NW as to control of the growers organization
and weigh-offs. As I understand it the official site of the last few years
competition has gone "private" and at this point no official weigh-off site
exists. While for the last couple of years my pumpkins have either been too
small, or not been sound, come weigh-off time I would at least be interested in
knowing where my paid dues will allow me to NOT have a pumpkin on
display again this year. :-)

participating in a seed exchange.
