Top 5 ..Iowa STYLE!!
Well I have fought the urge to post to this topic long enough!!!! Here
goes with a few reasons for my choices!!!! LOL!!
IN NO PARTICULAR ODER!!!!
#1....567 Mombert..No brainer there..the past speaks for itself!!!!
#2 ...946 Geerts....again the past does the talking for this one!!!!
#3... 723 Bobier..You can't look past last year!!! all across america
this one was putting out big giants!!!
JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT MY LIST WAS GOING TO BE BORING!!!
#4 ..... 547 # Armstrong........Hell it grew Scott's 814 last year and
that is proof to me........EVER SEEN THIS GUY GROW!!!! Normal guys
would have to do better then this!!!!! LOL!! I say this tongue in
cheek.....He is a dear friend and a great grower I was part responsible
for making this cross as I gave him the 935 Lloyd that he crossed with
his 887 Orr.....The seed is a 887 Orr female X 935 Lloyd
Male........Great genetics and Len Stel. might be trying it this
season..He asked for seeds anyway!!!! So maybe It is catching on!!!
LOL!! Honestly a sleeping giant that may never get planted....
#5 ...968 Hester.......Produced my presonal best last year at
818.8#.....Not to huge you might say ..Look at these facts...5.5 hours
of sunlight......plant covered 250 Square feet.....flag style pruned
plant.......main vine side had 110 leaves... producing the 818.8#
secondary side had 40 leaves producing 420 # ..(measured it ,never
actually hit the scales) ....That 818.8# is #3 all time in Iowa second
to Ruff's 833# and Krug's 969 #..... And when you look at shape and
color of good old honest pumpkins!! this one is Pretty darn nice in both
reguards...and it even went 10% heavy to the chart!!!!
