Re: GPC Squash Determination

.........WHATS THE DEAL? Were you serious about the squash problems or is the GPC just gonna pretend to listen to the people ?.................G
Even though I'm behind you on this Glen, you, myself & others might aswell give up. It ain't gonna be no different, you know that.
Although it does confuse me that squash are "put down". If most of you trace back the orange ones you are growing now, WAY BACK  to the early 70's , you will find they all lead to squash. I remember going to weighoffs in the early 70's & it there was not a pumpkin around that could touch the squash weighed at our show ( yes I have been going to weighoffs for 30 years, how many on the list can claim that) I hope there are some so they can remember what the large fruit looked like back in the early stages of the sport.
If I'm wrong here please correct me but I feel that the squash was very important in getting where we are today. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the orange ones also but why put the ones that helped get us here in a "lower" category.

OK Folks...Now its time to see how serious the GPC and its Steering Committee are in "clarifying" the squash determination  problems encountered at various sites the last few years...(this past year especially). I know that after the outcries this fall they said they'd  have discussions on it this winter....WELL? Its time to pick my seed....and time for everyone else to pick thier seeds.....it sure would be nice to know what they have determined, changed, clarrified, PRIOR to planting.
OK Joel,Hugh,Pete.........WHATS THE DEAL? Were you serious about the squash problems or is the GPC just gonna pretend to listen to the people ?.................G
