RE: Yesterday's California Meeting/Seminar

I would also like to thank Pete, Jack, George, Greg, Jon, Brian, and Jeri for helping to put together a fantastic event.

I would also like to thank all of the veteran growers as well as the beginners who joined us for the day, because without your support there wouldn't have been much of a meeting!!

Thanks!!

Zach

Subject: Yesterday's California Meeting/Seminar

The California growers would like to thank all the growers world wide
who donated seeds to the raffle that we had at our Meeting/Seminar yesterday.
The seed selection for our raffle and auction was absolutely spectacular.
Thanks to your generosity there is no doubt that we will see quite a few more
California growers join the 1000 lb. club in '03.

For the educational part of our Seminar, our organizers tried a format that
we have not used before. Instead of having a "guest speaker" or a
"panel of growers" they opted for a "Round Table" format.
Here's how it worked........there were about 125 attendees at the Seminar.
There were about 12 tables set up with about 10 people sitting at each table.
To start out each table was assigned a "top experienced grower" to answer any
questions that the 10 people sitting at the table wanted to ask. Some of the
"top
experienced growers" educating the intermediate and new growers were Pete
Glasier,
Jack Vezzolo, Jon Hunt, Greg Stucker, Ken Mitchell, Bob Troy, Lornen
Vanderschoot,
Gary Miller, Vince Zunino (just to name a few).
About every 15 minutes the "experienced growers" would rotate to a different
table.
Again and again the 10 people at each table had exposure to "another top
grower".
Most of the attendees at the Seminar said they really liked the "Round Table"
format.
The information that was exchanged using this format was phenomenal.
Organizers Zach Jones and Brian Myers said that they will likely use this
format again.
Hanging out yesterday with all the growers and browsing the seed tables with all
the great seeds has me all fired up and ready to plant.......geez I wish I
didn't
have to wait 8 more weeks !!

Best of luck to all in '03
George Webster
