I actually use Warrior-T, which has the same active ingredient at a higher
concentration, so I do not know what the dosage is on the Scimitar. Anyone
else want to field this one?
I do plan on switching to Scimitar when my supply of Warrior-T is gone.

Scimitar seems to have worked well for everyone I know who has tried it. In
three years I have never had a problem with the borer, though I have seen it
in the area.

In the area where I live in NC (on an island of the Outer Banks) I
haven't been able to grow squash or pumpkins due to these durn vine
borers. Last year I did have limited success with bottle gourds, but it
was very late in the season and I only produced one gourd. When
I lived in Va Bch, Va I never had any problem with squash except for not
beening able to harvest and eat it fast enough. The soil in both of the
areas I have gardened is almost totally sand before amendment.
What ,if any precautions can I take as I prepare my garden areas
now to try to mitagate this problem? Is there any type of prevention
methods to be used after planting? Thanks in advance for any advice.
