RE: plans
How is your patch preparation going?
Just to share with you my thoughts. As you could guess, my planting plans
have changed several times since our last e-mail. I am planning so far to
grow 4 plants in my patch, as I was. but I will try to start 8: 695 Handy
582 Hester, 1026 Holland, 658 Emmons, 996.5 Emmons, 845 Nesbitt, 717
Mitchell, 455 Liggett, and for the garden center whom with I made the web
page the 1245 Bailey and 869.5 Kline. As you see only one from 2002.
If all of them germinate well, I will put 8 In the patch, in order to cull
the less promising of each plot in 15-20 days.
I decided to follow Jack LaRue advice on separation plants in the same
couple of the x-mas tree as well; I will put them 5' appart.
Other idea I have been working with is starting date. And instead of start
all the seeds May 9th, which was my first plan, I am thinking in starting
the 5th, in order to make pollination before July 10th, because the average
hottest days here are between July 10th and 20th and I think it would be
smart to avoid them.
Best wishes
Carlos
