Pumpkins in NZ
Only two weeks to go to what will be our last pumpkin weigh off for some
years in Taranaki. I will let you know what happens on the day. The season
has settled into what is one of our worst droughts for some years. Farmer
are selling stock they cannot feed and it looks likely to carry on until
April. We have all been on watering restrictions so unless some growers use
bore water it may not be a classical year. It will be our last year for a
while though as we will be retiring the event for a few years in favour of
something new and I will be signing off.
I will give you all a rundown in a few weeks - the big day is April 6th.
Cheers
