Re: Under the tree?

Norman was right... It was a WWII song! :-D It was sung by the Andrew Sisters and is a like a letter written from a Girl to her Guy fighting in Europe. If you read between the lines, and you have a knack for catching the subtle inuendo of the 40s, you will realize that it IS about making punkins... just not the kind that grow on vines! *wink*

chorus starts:
"Don't sit under the apple tree
with anyone else but me!..."

If you swing dance, Lindy Hop, or Charleston (like I do), the mere mention of this song will make you want to move your feet. Its a great song. :-D

Does anyone remember the song, "Under the old apple tree?" Was it about
growing a pumpkin? I just can't seem to recall.
