Re: When to germinate?

Pumpkins, and giant pumpkins in particular, have very fast growing and
expanding root systems. You should not attempt to keep them indoors
very long. 3 to 5 days to germinate, and 3 to 5 days after germination,
they need to be out. Otherwise they'll be root bound and won't recover
well. You can buy a little time with 1-gallon pots, but then it becomes
more difficult to get the seedling into the ground without damage.

keep the temp around 83-85 degrees for best results. As soon as they start
breaking ground they go under the gro lights. I keep the lights about 1-2"
above the seedling and adjust as needed. Don

fast do they grow?
