Planting in 3 foot rows ...

Hello - does anyone have any experience in - how should I put this ----

A local vegetable farm uses 3 foot rows to plant there
vegetables...these rows are covered with black plastic - the
seeds/seedlings are planted in the middle and there are two fertilizer
bands on either side ..

They irragate in trenches along side these rows -

etc. etc etc.

Thats the basic concept..I know it works well for there vegetables...
But has anyone tried Altantic Giants with this method???

Thanks for any feedback - as I am working in "partnership" with a farm -
they have alotted me part of a row - and I have just planted:

a) 2 or 3 seeds
b) 2 or 3 dozen seeds
c) 2 or 3 score of seeds
d) 2 or 3 hundred seeds

Thanks - Tim - Florida

ps - These rows run East-West --- I have the Southern-most row - and its
mostly clear to the South of this last row....(I'm closly neighbored
'2 1/2 feet' - by a row of watermelon - or soon to be watermelon
seedlings - to the North) I was thinking I might try to X-mas tree off
of this row - with the main vine - to the South - let the back vine
ramble thru the melons - on the North side

Sounds like a mess already - but the pumpkin seeds are just starting to
come up..
