On page 103 of Burpee's Catalog you can find
a description of Nature Gard Beneficial
Nematodes --- manufactured by Sundbury.
There are 3 different varieties --- for gardens,
lawns and fleas. The kind for the garden is
supposed to control chafers, cutworms, squash
vine borers, blackvine beetles and other harmful
garden pests by killing the larvae and pupae in
the soil -- works for 4 weeks and doesn't hurt
beneficial insects, people or pets. It's water
soluable and you spray it on the soil. Cost from
Burpee is $15 (U.S.) plus shipping. Don't know
how much area that one container will treat.
W. Atlee Burpee has a web site and will answer
any questions you might have about their
products. I wonder if it hurts earthworms?
Getting psyched for growing season,
Mike in Missouri
