Steve,
If you live in San Francisco you need not worry about cooling your pumpkin
plants. The marine influence will keep your temps just about right.
However, if you live East, North or South of San Francisco, temperatures
will increase by as much as 40F with in a 20-30 minute drive. So, it could
be 70F in San Francisco and a 20 to 30 minute drive out of the City could
bring temps between 104F to 110F. In this case you will need to think about
cooling your plants to avoid heat stress!
