Hey RKI -- 
I've made the drive across Kansas many times. It's a steady
climb on I-70 to the Rockies from about Russell, Kansas as.
But I've never heard anyone categorize Kansas as a mountain
state. Our main attraction is the world's deepest hand-dug
well and the fact that we've got the nicest restrooms in the
entire Interstate highway system.

(Note to any Kansans on the list: Don't flame me. I'm one of
you.)

I'm the winner of the mountain states weigh off.  Three days
ago I asked all
growers in Colorado,Wyoming, Utah, N. Mexico, Kansas and
Nebraska to E-mail
me about starting a mountain states pumpkin champion weigh
off.  I never
heard a word-----soooooo I  must be the only grower of GIANT
PUMPKINGS in the
Rocky Mountain area. I guess I will win every year.  I
should put a mony
prise on 1st, 2nd,and 3rd. place.
