Pat you will find many different opinions on fertilizing.BUT YOU DO NEED THE
MANURE.
It is possible to over fertilize these plants, and as with all plants this can
cause early burnout.
A steady diet of a lower dosage fertilizer ( miracle grow or peters, divided by
one half ) in combination with the organics has worked the best for me.
My plants fair better with this combimation, and produce healthier pumkins.
