There has been a lot of posts on fertilizer lately so I thought I would post a
problem my garden had.
After 3-5 years Phosphorous starts to build up and you can’t use the standard
fertilizers anymore, which includes granular as well as water soluble. You
then must shift to manure/urea/liquid fish or some combination. Potash will
build up too but will decline in a few years requiring occasional supplements.
Someone asked about New England long range forecast. Heard this update today,
we are under a high flood potential watch because of heavy rains for the last
5 weeks. Rivers are high and the soil has a very high moisture content. This
may delay planting for some, luckily my garden drains very well and I will
probably till the Pumpkin Patch section Friday evening.
