Re: Any updates from NZ or Australia?

Not in my garden!
In my first year of grwoing pumpkins, let alone giant ones, I have a pumpkn
that has reached about 45" in circumference and stopped growing last week.
There is still almost 1 month till the weighoff, so I hope it holds up etc.
It is still on the vine, and I think I'll leave it there for as long as
possible, but it now looks like the vine is dying back, so I might have to
bring it inside. Any info would be good.
As for other people, I can't really say, but Stewart Deans said to me the
other day that the hot weather is playing havoc. Apparently the Australian
record holder's has also stopped growing, with other people' pumpkins not
as big as expected. I also heard that last years winner (Jason Souness -
not on the net) has a 'good' one, but what that means I don't know. Also,
apparently there have been some exploding pumpkins in WA, but at waht stage
I don't really know. Hopefully some eastern states and NZ peopel will have
some info.
