Ok, you guys and gals,
This is a call for help! I discovered termites in the soil of one of my prized
plants! This seedling was gorgeous when it was planted in the field 3/11.
Within a week, I noticed some leaf curling. Reported it to the list, the main
consensus was to watch and see. I did. The first true leaves that grew also
looked curled, but all of the rest look fine.
I was happy until yesterday, during watering, when a clump of compost broke
loose exposing zillions of little termites! I decided not to panic, although
it was hard. My husband wanted me to use Dursban Fire ant granules to see if
that would work. Nope. Decided to wait and ask the pros.
Your turn! What would you do? There must be something safe to put on this area
to kill them. I want to keep this plant! Anybody ever had this problem?
Despite the termites, the plant looks pretty good!
Of course you know, this means war! I think I am in for it from now through
July.
