1400lber fact/fiction

Couldn't resist, so I gave Rocky a call, and we chatted about pumpkins 
awhile.Interesting fellow,and seems very knowledgeable about growing 
AGs.Said he got his seed from P&P and that it was the 1061 that he 
planted.Used large amounts of mushroom compost that he purchased from a 
supplier in Vermont, and also liquid kelp.(says this helps tolerate 
cold).His 1406 had 7 segments on the female flower,and had another 
flower with 8 segments, but it aborted.His circumference was 184" and  
OTT was 424".The walls measured 20" and was 48" tall.He's getting a kick 
out of the attention he's getting.Isn't a competitive grower,but just 
wanted a pumpkin bigger than his record(70lbs).He said he was in the 
local papers,and also ch.7 news did a segment on him and his monster.So 
any doubters that live near Streamwood IL,should have a recollection of 
this, or could check it out.Pumpkinpiper
