First let me state that the word "error" may have been a poor choice of
words for the difference between formula values and chart values. A better
choice might have been "different" at various levels.
For example at 151 total OTT inches the formula says 82.1 lbs. vs. the chart
at 96 lbs.
At 225 inches the formula says 246.8 while the chart says 235.
At 300 inches the formula says 546 while the chart says 541.
Clearly the numbers are "different".
Since the estimating of the weight of a growing pumpkin is at best
"estimating" I would feel confident that both the formula method or the
chart method are equally valid methods, just different.
For the toes I obviously touched, it was not intentional. As I said earlier,
adding the column to automatically convert OTT to weight was, and still is,
a great addition to the original chart.
