Publicly, or privately, my vote is with you Brock, too many missing pieces
to be accepted face value.
My memory is supported by Mike's CucurByte page information that shows the
largest WEIGHED progeny of a 1061 female is the 750.0 Hubler 1997. Since the
"phantom" pumpkin was reportedly self-pollinated that means the plant
produced a pumpkin nearly twice as big as anyone else has been able to
produce.
Pretty tough to accept without SOME evidence.
Seems like the first of April has come early to this list, IMHO anyway.
