Asprin

I have heard some talk about using asprin as a soil additive.  I guess the idea is that it will
open roots like it does clogged arteries. Or something.  Has anyone ever tried this? I didn't
find anything in the archives. Let me know.
 
p.s.  I have about two feet of snow on my pumpkin patch and more is coming down now.
        Will it ever end?!?
