  Milk might lower the pH momentarily as the lactose is converted to
acid, but only sulfur is dependable for lowering the pH. I have poured a
little soured milk on greenhouse plants which were suffering from
nitrogen shortage, and the greened up. I suggest that in no way. 
  Fertilizer of any type is recommended. I have better results adding
the cheapest solid fertilizer such as 10-10-10 or whatever ratio is
desired.
