New to this

This will be our first try at growing large pumpkins. I have a few
questions I was hopeing someone could answer for me.

First, does anyone have any high Lb trait seeds I coiuld buy. I have
heard that its all in genetics. I want to start off with the right
seeds. 

Second, a local farmer told me he heard that useing milk on your plants
is how to get big pumpkins. Is this true or is it a wives tale? If its
true, how do you use the milk? 

I have conditioned the soil for the past few years for other crops, and
want to enter a new local pumpkin contest ths fall. Any help I can get
would be appreciated.
