Mystery Critter

I bumped into a burrowing critter just three feet away
from my 875 Dill and tunneling right for it.  I've
never seen anything like it except when I've had a bad
dream.  I've posted a picture of it at this site:

Does anybody have a clue what this hombre is and what
it feeds on?
