Re: 300 pound stock


In most cases I would agree with Al about staying away from the 300 pound 
stock but there are exceptions I believe.  Example,  The Larue family 
normally grows pumpkins over 800 to 900 pounds on a regular basis.  However, 
last year the weather for them was much colder and cloudier than normal.  The 
result was much smaller pumpkins in the 300 - 500 pound range for the most 
part.  Does that mean the seeds from these pumpkins are duds?  I don't think 
so.  I believe you have to look at every situation seperately when trying to 
determine if you have a good seed or a dud.
